Ann Turkel

Today, the actress and former cover girl is living at Beverly Hills with her dogs Samantha and Olivia (above she left). Ann Turkel still struggles to deal with the divorce she received of Richard Harris, even though they only dated for eight years. The actress was born into the Jewish middle class family, and grew up within Manhattan, Turkel had, when she was 16, studied at the same time with Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse and Philip Burton at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. It took Ann Turkel nearly forty years to acknowledge that she and Richard Harris have never were happy in their marriage. Ann Turkel, who is famous throughout the world for her success in television, film and business, has had an interesting and varied career. Ann, who was born in the Upper West Side in Manhattan, has always shown an aptitude for entertaining. The training in her art continued throughout university. Ann started dancing classes when she was just at the age of five. She credits her mother for inspiring her to pursue an artistic career. Ann studied acting, dance, and voice throughout her childhood. Ann at the time was 16 years old studied at at the Neighborhood Playhouse (formerly the Musical Theatre Academy) and at the Musical Theatre Academy under some of the best acting teachers within the city. These included Sandy Meisner & Philip Burton. Ann joined a group with schoolmates in high school and began to sing. The Pajama Game", and West Side Story, were some of the summer productions she did at the Berkshire Playhouse Stockbridge Massachusetts. Ann was first noticed when she performed at a Vogue fashion show with her group. In less than a week the editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland commissioned Ann to shoot the very first Vogue Cover with photographer Richard Avedon. Ann went on to become one of the most well-known models in the United States, featuring as a cover-model for top magazines like Vogue Bazaar or Cosmopolitan. Ann began modeling in Europe and Japan for Max Factor Revlon as well as Chanel following two years of success.
